Interview to Abel Aníbal Zabala: the archive of payadores from Río de la Plata

Abstract

In this interview, the researcher Abel Aníbal Zabala shares his knowledge about the payada and payadores from Río de la Plata, acquired along his life and realized in conferences and books. In a kind gesture, Zabala is able to proportionate all data, events and antecedents with temporal accuracy. Among the mentioned issues, we find explanations about the continuous cross-border relations among payadores, opinions about the work of them and, specially, the history and features of his vast multimedia archive. Moreover, Zabala makes public who researchers have visited the archive and who are the legatees of collections.
